The MAINFORUM forms an important urban accent as a window to the city. It opens onto Wilhelm-Leuschner-Strasse and, with its calm and reduced design, takes up the clear formal language of the architecture. Two differently shaped water basins, the inclined water level and the reflecting pool, are the central elements of the forum, with the outdoor cafeteria area adjoining to the south. The "inclined water level" was designed as a stainless steel pool with a natural stone overlay of granite. In the reflecting pool, a mirror pool made of stainless steel, an art object made of freely curved steel wires called "UTSUROHI" by Aiko Miyawaki was installed. The arcades of the first three upper floors of the residential part were planted with yew hedges in automatically irrigated stainless steel troughs. A lighting concept was developed for the outdoor facilities. The inclined water level is set into scene by optical fiber conductors, the light marks the course of the water. The natural stone benches at the water basins are underlit and float in space as islands of light.
