The central idea of the design is to link the station more closely with the city center.
The station area, tangent to the Ringstadt in the south, will become a segment of a landscape band

landscape band accompanying the track bed. It is created from the existing landscape by

space-creating wooded areas at the interface between city and landscape.

The green volume defines clear spatial edges of a station square that opens
towards the city center.
opens towards the city center. The tree canopies are intended for stationary traffic,

flowing traffic such as drop-offs, city buses and streetcars cross in direct

direct line of sight to the rail exits of the spacious, geometric square,

that stretches all the way to the new health center. Between the main road

and the station building, the surface texture of the pavement features a large, light-colored area

is set off. An information band in the form of an abstract city silhouette framed by

benches creates an ideal link to the historic city center with its
special buildings.
